Anubex awarded contract to migrate applications Bank J.Van Breda & C°

Anubex, leader in automated software modernization, just announced it has been awarded a contract to migrate the Car Finance application used by Bank J.Van Breda & C°. The deal is valued at about 1.1 million USD.

The software application manages the financial administration of Van Breda Car Finance. The application has been in use for more than 20 years and is currently used by internal staff at Bank J.Van Breda & C° and multiple car dealers.

Technically, the software application will be migrated from an IBM mainframe environment to Windows, by using Anubex’ unique methodology and specific solutions. The Car Finance application will be migrated and converted to more modern technologies, including modern user interfaces and relational databases.

The migration will move some 1.5 million lines of code, 928 user-interface screens, and 15 GB of data to Windows. The project will be executed according to Anubex' iterative snapshot-oriented process called SOAR, and will involve experts from Anubex and Bank J.Van Breda & C°.

"Our tools will automate over 95% of the work needed to extract this application from the mainframe, transform it to a Windows architecture, and retarget the application to RDBMS technologies”, says Louis Heymans, Managing Director at Anubex. “By combining these tools with the Anubex SOAR process, Bank J.Van Breda & C° will be assured a seamless transition."

Marc Wijnants, Head of IT at Bank J.Van Breda & C°, justifies the migration through their need to work with up to date technologies (graphical user interface, data accessibility, …), the urgency to eliminate their technical dependence on the IBM platform and the gain in operational costs that will be generated.
