Getting Started

PMA at a glance
Why PMA?

Time and Cost Savings

  • Through PMA, the parts of an application that can be converted 100 % automatically are clearly identified. This extra information allows more accurate project plans to be made to a deeper level of detail;
  • The remaining parts that cannot be converted fully automatically are better scoped. As a result, fewer "unknowns" are left to be discovered during the project and a greater part of the migration can be done at a fixed price;
  • In many cases, the extra information gained from a PMA actually translates into a reduction of the total time that needs to be budgeted to complete the project successfully.

Phases of PMA
An Open Process

  • Anubex migration experts perform a tools-assisted, detailed analysis;
  • Anubex migration experts process the analysis results:
    Quantification of the application components;
  • Qualification of missing program components and dependencies;
  • Definition of potential mappings and the impact of the different alternatives;
  • Qualification of structural consistency in (data) record definitions;
  • Interview with Anubex and customer experts:
    Evaluation of alternative architectural targets;
  • Cleanup of code base to be converted and removal of components not needed for migration;
  • Division of code base into functional units;
  • Identification of project resources and scheduling availability;
  • Finalisation of project plans;

Possible Deliverables of PMA
What you can get

All deliverables of PMA are optional and can be agreed upon before the project starts. Depending on the options chosen, PMA duration is typically between five and fifteen working days.

Cross-reference analysis of the analysed application:

  • Missing components;
  • Language statement usage reports;
  • Interface usage;
  • A Comprehensive or revised project plan;
  • ROI documentation for the project and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) measurement for the retention of the current platform;
  • Recommended (hardware) system requirements to minimise license costs;
    Program migration and maintenance complexity statistics.
