The market of Legacy Migrations, where a mainframe is automatically migrated to a fully equivalent application that can now benefit from the use of cloud, HTML, object-oriented languages or RDBMS, has long been the exclusive field of highly technical and specialized companies.
Anubex has been the market leader for many years, and by making the Migration Factory available to partners and clients, it takes the market to the next level: industrialization. The Factory industrializes the process of migrating and testing legacy applications, delivering migrated and technically tested applications, characterized by high quality and short elapse times. To achieve this, the Factory builds upon clear processes, automated migration and testing tools, as well as a unique methodology.
What does the Factory require?
To perform the migration of the legacy application, the Factory needs to receive all its source code adhering to specific delivery standards, and the associated data structure definitions. The migration tools typically have extensive means for parameterization, which is an additional input to the Factory that steers the actual migration. To be able to test the applications in the Factory (smoke and technical testing) so-called traces recording representative user activities and test data need to be delivered. Based on these the application is tested. Where needed the migration tools are updated, and the tests re-run.
What does the Factory deliver?
Together with the migrated application (all source code, database migration) the Factory produces a testing report (QA) illustrating the quality of the migrated application. Read on to see how the Factory's tools are able to provide continuity for your business by keeping applications and data intact and identical.
